IG Aguowo Health and Academic Foundation (IGAHAF) was officially inaugurated on January 1, 2020 by His Lordship, Most Rev. Paulinus Chukwuemeka Ezeokafor, the Catholic Bishop of Awka Diocese. In that ceremony, the affairs of IGAHAF were formally handed over to God with prayers and blessings of the renowned prelate.
IGAHAF started with a passionate idea and concept that focuses on helping the less-privileged. In December, 2019, the lead volunteers who believe that true freedom and human quality can be attained with mind-empowerment and sound health, came up with this idea. The foundation immediately got into action and commenced basic activities on it. The Importance of quality education and healthcare cannot be overemphasized. You may be asking why you should help or why we should even bother educating them, but we forget that for any nation’s growth, education is a vital tool. The quality of a nation’s labour force reflects its strength and capability.
Chief Ignatius OnyekaAguowo is the Founder IG Aguowo Health and Academic Foundation (IGAHAF) and the chairman of its board of trustees. He is also the Group Chairman/President of VOLIC Group of Companies. His passion and commitment to help the less-privileged are unprecedented. He uses proceeds from his multiple chains of businesses to reach out to the deprived, a drive that led to the establishment of IGAHAF.
Between December 2019 and March 2020, several people were mobilized who among them became major trustees of the foundation. These various individuals, led by the founder, moved to action and began basic implementation of certain ideas that have so far brought relief to several individuals and beneficiaries. Before being registered by the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, the foundation has already selected 78 beneficiaries to commence the first phase of its academic scholarship programme. Till date, the IGAHAF has a total of 362 beneficiaries that are in primary schools, secondary schools and universities. IGAHAF remains solidly committed to its core aims, visions and values.
Aims and Objectives of IG Aguowo Health and Academic Foundation
- To provide basic education for the less-privileged in the society.
- To contribute and build up stability where there will be access to education and healthcare.
- To provide social, economic, and educational empowerment to the less-privileged in the society.
- To enable the less-privileged to receive healthcare services and free education..
- Organizing conferences and events to educate our beneficiaries..
- Donating health and medical equipment to local communities to strengthen their healthcare systems.
IGAHAF has uncountable healthcare beneficiaries, both those officially adopted by the Foundation and those that benefit from the Foundation’s seasonal trips to various hospitals to offset the hospital bills of the less-privileged trapped in the hospitals after discharge on account of their inability to settle their hospital bills. In line with its commitment to education, IGAHAF supports its Founder’s immediate community through other projects. One notable project of IGAHAF in support of educational progress is the renovation of the principal’s quarters at Ezeike High School, Nibo, Anambra State, the Alma mater of the IGAHAF Founder, Ichie Ignatius Onyeka Aguowo.
IGAHAF’s target is to have more than 10,000 beneficiaries across the country and also to build IGAHAF International Schools in all the 36 States of Nigeria including the Federal Capital Territory. IGAHAF also plans to build hospitals and donate to the State Government and various communities across the Country.
The Founder of IGAHAF {Ozo {Ichie} IG Aguowo is not a Politician and do not intend to be a Politician. IGAHAF was not establish for any political purposes but strictly for humanitarian services.

OKAFOR ANTHONY
Supervisor and Consultant
Okafor Anthony is among the management team of IG Aguowo Education and Health Foundation. He holds the position of a supervisor and consultant on academic activities for the foundation, where he constantly supervises and evaluate the academic performance of the beneficiaries for continuous academic improvement.

Foundation coordinator
Mr Odene Cletus is among the management team of IG AGUOWO HEALTH ACADEMIC FOUNDATION. He is the COORDINATOR of the IG Aguowo Health and Academic Foundation, a key position that coordinates and organize the activities of the foundation for efficiency, quality and constant improvement. He hails from Nibo town, Awka South LGA, Anambra state of Nigeria.
PEACE UZOMA CHUKWU
Executive Secretary
Peace Uzoma Chukwu is the Executive Secretary of I.G. Aguowo Health and Academic Foundation. She oversees the affairs of the foundation and handles the administrative activities of the foundation. Peace Uzoma Chukwu is a graduate of Psychology at Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Anambra State and she hails from Enugu State. Peace Uzoma Chukwu has a good communication and relationship building skills, good teaching skills, Self-driven and highly motivated assertiveness and managerial skill. Ability to communicate effectively (Written and verbal in English), Integrity and honesty.
MISS RUTH EDOM
Head Financial Management
Miss Ruth Edom is a Member Board of Trustees and Head Financial Management Unit of I.G Aguowo Health and Academic Foundation. She handles all the Foundation finances and disbursement including checks and balances. She has a clear, logical mind with a practical approach to problem-solving and a drive to see things through to completion. She has more than 10 years of experience in Banking and Finance. Ruth Edom has been managing teams across multiple sectors for the past 13 years. She is eager to learn and enjoy overcoming challenges. Ruth Edom has a genuine interest in Business Management and making organizations successful. Ruth Edom is excellent in working with others to achieve a certain objective on time and with excellence.
Mrs. GLORIA UGONNIA ABANIHE
Executive Director
Mrs. Gloria Ugonnia Abanihe is the General Supervisor at IG AGUOWO HEALTH AND ACADEMIC FOUNDATION. She is a dedicated professional with a strong educational background and a passion for making a positive impact.
Mrs. Gloria is a proud graduate of Abia State University, Uturu in Abia State, Nigeria, where she pursued her studies in Biochemistry. Her academic journey reflects her commitment to knowledge and excellence. Hailing from Urum in Awka North Local Government Area of Anambra State, Mrs. Gloria carries the values and traditions of her community with her. Her work is not just a profession; it’s a reflection of her commitment to giving back to the community that shaped her.
